Our hampers are distinctive because we work ever so hard throughout the year to investigate new concepts and introduce new combinations. October and early November are extremely busy months for us as we contract pack other organisation’s Christmas hampers so they can appear in their shops. But from this moment on, we get to test the desirability of our gift creations which we developed in March. Christmas Hamper Offers For 2019 we have more than 200 Christmas Hampers available for purchase as a gift, but truth be told, ther...

Happy 2011 To Our Customers & Suppliers!

Happy 2011 & a big thank you to all our customers for shopping with BasketsGalore last year & throughout the years! Christmas 2010 was certainly a challenge as we experienced some of the most extreme weather conditions ever faced across the UK & Ireland. The snow, ice & sub-zero temperatures experienced throughout December grounded flights, closed rail links and left traffic at a standstill. Read more here . At BasketsGalore we managed to keep dispatching all your Christmas gifts , despite nearly getting snowed in on a couple of occasions. A Thunder-Snow storm hit (a thunder & lightning storm with snow rather than rain – a rare phenomenon apparently) & we had to dig our cars out to get home (pictures to follow soon!) Some of our suppliers couldn’t reach our premises to deliver new stock, so we had to greet them at the top of the road & carry boxes through the snow. Obviously after we dispatch our gift baskets, they need to be delivered to the end recipient b...

The Hamper Debate

The Story of the Traditional Christmas Hamper A man walks into the office and exclaims how unusual it is to see a “hamper company” busy when it isn’t Christmas time. “Yes, that’s because we’re not really a hamper company,” is our reply. “Don’t be silly,” he says, “you make hampers and so you must be a hamper company . If you’re not a hamper company, then what are you?” “We’re a Euro Style Gift Basket Company.” He laughs and says that there is no difference. A hamper here is referred to as a gift basket in America. It’s still the same thing. "Is it?", we say: “A hamper in Ireland was traditionally a charitable gift given at Christmas time and tended to be a variety of groceries, which were packed in a box and filled with foods, of quite distinctly average taste. A Gift Basket accentuates Gourmet food products and places significant emphasis on the presentation, packaging and service.” “I did hampers a couple of years ago he tells me. We were asked by one of the local ba...
