Gift Deliveries To London From Ireland During Olympics

Deliveries To London & Surrounding Suburbs During Olympic Games

The 2012 Olympic Games began in London last week, with the opening ceremony taking place on Friday 27th July & welcoming athletes from all over the world - including Ireland!

With so many events taking place in London and the surrounding areas it is going to cause traffic congestion, closed roads, security stops and therefore delays in these areas will be inevitable.

From 25th July to 14th September 2012 (taking into account the Paralympic Games too) we advise allowing a bit more time for any deliveries you might want to schedule to London and the surrounding areas. At least 1 extra day in advance would be beneficial, for both standard and express services, when selecting a delivery date please. We will also endeavour to dispatch parcels a day early to affected postcodes, if ordered a few days in advance.

Our courier companies have advised that disruption to the 48-hour and 24-hour services shall be kept to a minimum, but unfortunately they cannot be guaranteed to the postcodes below during this period due to traffic congestion and potential security issues. Timed delivery services such as Pre-9am, Pre-10am & Pre-Noon will be prioritised, but are also not guaranteed to the postcodes below during this time period.

BR1, BR7, CR0, E1-E20, E98, E1W, EC1-EC4, HA0-HA9, IG1-IG11, KT1, KT8, N1, N3, N9-N14, N17-N18, N20-22, NW1-NW2, NW4, NW6-NW11, RM1-RM20, SE1-SE23, SL5-SL9, SL0-SL4, SM1, SW1-SW20, TW1-TW20, UB1-UB11, W1-W14, WC1-WC2, WD3-WD7, WD17-19, WD23-25

We would advise against shipping to E20 postcodes in particular, as this is the Olympic Village area and parcels may be subject to security fees and delays/refusal.

The following postcodes will also be affected on certain dates in July & August 2012, so customers are advised to use an alternative addresses or to email us to check if the area is affected on your required date before ordering: CV6, G42, CF10, M16, NE1, HA9, SL4, DT5, EN9, SS7 and DA3. These include football stadiums & racing tracks etc where other Olympic events will be held.

We appreciate your understanding regarding any delays that may take place to these postcodes during the Games. Our couriers assure us they have extra resources and contingency plans in place to keep disruption to a minimum, but obviously with such a huge event taking place some delays cannot be avoided. Some plans they mentioned included "walking" and "bicycle" couriers, but many of our hampers and gift baskets are large & bulky so we feel a bit sorry for anyone delivering them via these means!

With extra resources comes extra cost, and the couriers have had to charge an extra £1 per consignment for any deliveries to London. At BGie we have decided to absorb these costs, rather than add it onto our delivery fee. Any questions please just drop us an email on sales@giftbaskets.ie

Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoy watching the Games & cheering on your team!

Christmas Hampers Ireland 2019

Christmas Shopping Begins This is our 16th year of packing Christmas Hampers, the 8th Christmas in our current facility. Our hampers are distinctive because we work ever so hard throughout the year to investigate new concepts and introduce new combinations. It is our mission to extract value through efficiencies of scale and operation, so that our customers are delighted with their Gift Hampers and Baskets. This invariably attracts the attention of those who understand the difficulty of packing and producing hampers and ask us to apply our gift packing skills. October and early November are extremely busy months for us as we contract pack other organisation’s Christmas hampers so they can appear in their shops. But from this moment on, we get to test the desirability of our gift creations which we developed in March. Christmas Hamper Offers For 2019 we have more than 200 Christmas Hampers available for purchase as a gift, but truth be told, ther...

Flowers For Mum Gifts

Our most popular Gift Basket For Mum of all time has to be 'Mother's Day Flowers & Treats'. This is actually kind of amusing as it is somewhat against our original aim to be the "alternative to flowers". Instead of ignoring flowers completely, as let's face it they are still an extremely popular choice of gift, we decided to embrace them in a different manner. Rather than trying to compete with local florists who will always be able to present a more attractive bouquet than one having to travel through a delivery network, we came up with the idea of a flowering PLANT. This attractive floral plant could then accompany a smaller basket of treats to provide the end receiver the best of both worlds. Historically the 'Mother's Day Flowers & Treats' gift was pitched at a discounted, popular price point and it would be updated slightly each year for repeat Customers. The focus of the basket was on food and this was accompanied by a pretty fl...
